Job Position: Hotel Cashier

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, trustworthy, and customer-focused Hotel Cashier to join our team. As the first point of contact for many financial transactions within the hotel, the cashier plays a key role in ensuring a smooth and professional guest experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling cash, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to provide exceptional service in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handle guest payments including cash, credit/debit cards, mobile money, and room charges

  • Issue receipts, invoices, and maintain accurate records of all transactions

  • Ensure cash drawer is balanced at the beginning and end of each shift

  • Reconcile daily cash reports and submit to the finance or front office manager

  • Assist in resolving billing inquiries or disputes from guests in a courteous manner

  • Collaborate with front office staff to ensure a smooth check-in/check-out process

  • Report any discrepancies, system issues, or suspicious transactions promptly

  • Maintain a clean, organized cashier station and ensure compliance with hotel policies

Requirements:

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy,

  • Proficiency in using Point of Sale (POS) systems, basic accounting software, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel),

  • Ability to handle cash, credit card transactions, and reconcile accounts

  • High level of integrity, honesty, and confidentiality

  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and manage time effectively

  • Customer service-oriented with a professional appearance and demeanor

  • Flexible to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays

  • Ability to follow instruction and Detail-oriented,

  • Professional attitude required, have an enthusiastic and positive personality,

  • Ability to work independently,

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required (English),
     

Qualification:

  • Preferred: Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration,

Experience:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a cashier in a hotel, restaurant, or retail environment

  • Previous experience in a hospitality setting is highly desirable

  • Experience handling financial transactions, preparing daily cash reports, and balancing cash drawers
